Voices from the Earth: Current Issue
Table of The term "equity" was a government creation pushed onto the EJ movement by the Environmental Protection Agency. SWOP doesn't want "equal opportunity pollution." We want to reshape the whole table. We want a fundamental reordering of our priorities and commitments, and that starts with corporate and government accountability to the community. We want justice.

SRIC Extras
Thank you Thank you to those of you who thought of us while doing your end of year charitable donations. We greatly appreciate several donors who increased their amount of support. Given the reduction in support from some foundations because of the falling stock market, such increased giving is especially needed. We appreciate your faith in our work. Southwest Research and Information Center depends on the gifts of individuals, foundations and corporations for its ability to work on behalf of New Mexico's environmental issues and concerns. Without YOUR help, we cannot take on the pressing environmental, health and economic issues that affect our daily lives. Volunteers SRIC would like to thank Jack Mattox for volunteering his time doing research for some of SRIC's current projects. His assistance is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to working with him again. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Annette or Don at (505) 262-1862, or email: Admin@sric.org. We are looking for volunteers with experience in the following areas: groundwater and air quality modeling, building maintenance. Support As you work on getting your 2002 taxes prepared, you might want to think about getting a head start on 2003 by donating today. Donations to SRIC are tax-deductible. You can donate a fixed amount, or you can pledge an amount each month for the next 12 months? A pledge of just $10 provides $120 a year to help continue our work on behalf of the environment. Just let us know and we can send your monthly reminders, or set things up to charge your credit card each month. Call Annette or Don for more details at (505) 262-1862. Submissions Wanted We are looking for voluntary assistance with our publication Voices from the Earth. If you are interested in writing a book review, or if you have an article you think we should print, please contact Annette Aguayo, Editor, at (505) 262-1862 or Admin@sric.org. We reserve the right to use or edit submissions. No press releases, please.
