The Environmental Information and Education Program has played an essential role in fulfilling SRIC's mission to provided timely and accurate information on matters that effect the environment and human health. Since SRIC's inception, reaching the broadest possible audience has been the primary focus of this program. Major means to provide information are Voices from the Earth, the extensive library, the web site, media contacts, and speaking engagements.

**Program Objective and Goals:**
Program Goal: Promote environmental education in local communities through SRIC's web site, its quarterly publication, media contacts, distribution of program information and materials, and speaking engagements and presentations by SRIC staffers. Program Objectives: Develop and provide cross-cultural programs for public education. Provide speakers on environmental issues for schools and community groups. Make SRIC's library resources more available to schools and community groups. Respond to hundreds of information requests from activists, citizens, teachers, students, community groups and individuals directly and through our web site. Publish and distribute Voices from the Earth, SRIC's quarterly publication. Increase distribution of Voices from the Earth by ten percent.
